Here’s a video of our Crosscutters Dance Camp performing at the Sat. Aug. 4th game. Our camp was open level, jazz/pom/hip hop. We met M-F to perform this routine that Saturday. Great job, girls! We want to dance!
Our School Year Registration opened on Tues. Aug 7th. Our Tuesday Hip Hop 1 Jazz Fusion (beginner) class is filling fast. Register Online Here. We also offer classes in Lyrical, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary & Musical Theater. Classes begin August 27th!
We will be at the National Night Out event tonight, Tues Aug 7th, from 5-7pm (event goes until 9pm). Find us at the BVRA Park in Lewisburg, along the tennis courts (facing the pool parking lot). As far as we know, the event is still on despite the chance of rain.

Calling all dancers!–School Year, Online Registration opens tomorrow, TUESDAY night. Call, email, or visit our table at National Night Out. We will be in BVRA Park, near the tennis courts, 5-7pm. We will be happy to answer any of your questions.
New dancers–Not sure if your dancer is ready or will like “x” style of dance? Register & see how the first class goes. Payment to continue is due at the 2nd class.
We have 17 dancers performing today at the Williamsport Crosscutters (minor league game) vs WV. We’ve been practicing M-F a new dance. Come see us at 6:40pm when we take the field before the 7pm baseball game!
Dancers, we’ll see you at the studio for a 4-4:45pm rehearsal. Then, we’ll enter the gates at 6pm & meet in Section 1 at 6:10pm to line up. We’ll take group photos at rehearsal & when we line up. Pick up your tickets under your dancer’s name at the Box Office.
We are days away from opening our school year registration! We have classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, & Musical Theater coming your way PLUS combo classes like the new, Hip Hop/Tap (ages 5-7). Get 2 styles in one class time! Three & four year olds will love “Baby Ballet” and/or “Baby Bop,” (aka creative movement/hip hop), morning & evening times available. For our older dancers, we’ll have classes for the experienced & new to dance. Keep an eye out for the new, Contemporary 1! If you’re looking to take your technique to the next level, join a new, Ballet Technique class!

What dance gear should I buy?
1. Dancewear/Leotard
With the exception of Hip Hop, every dancer needs at least one leotard, any style/color. It’s always best to go with a sleeveless style because you can always layer a cardigan if you get cold, or take it off when too hot. You’ll also need tights. Skirts optional. Bike shorts, leg warmers, or leggings can also be layered. Dancers ages 10+ may wear a mix of dance wear and active wear unless they are in ballet.
2. Dance Bag
Buy or designate a bag as your dancer’s dance bag. Each week they’ll bring it to class. Pack it with dance shoes, an extra hair tie, socks in case, a water bottle, etc.
3. Dance Shoes
If you’re a returning dancer, check to see that your dance shoes still fit! See below for what to buy or send us an email at downtowndancepa@gmail.com.
Ballet Ages 3-6
Tieless ballet shoes in styles like Belle Bloch or Capezio Love. TIELESS is very important. Girls in pink, boys in black.
Ballet Ages 7-9
Girls pink leather, full sole (see example). Boys in black.
Ballet Ages 10+
Pink leather, split sole with criss-cross elastic (see example)
Tap Ages 4-8
Black shoes that tie (ie Capezio Jr Tyette) or velcro.
Boys: black, lace up style.
Tap Ages 9+
Black, lace up shoes that have a “strong toe box” in the description.
Musical Theater/Jazz Ages 5+
Tan, Slip on leather (see example).
Intermediates: Order this style when needing a new size (see example).
Lyrical Ages 7+
New dancers: Tan, Child Lyrical Flow or Adult Capezio Pirouette (closed toe, half canvas)
Returning: Stick with the Foot Undeez/Dance paws until you need new shoes. The new shoe will help with turns.
Contemporary 10+
Same as Lyrical.
Hip Hop/Bop ages 3-7
Regular sneakers any color/style
Hip Hop Ages 8+
Black, Dance Sneakers (see example)
If you sign up for a combination “combo” class like “Itty Bitty Ballet/Tap” for ages 4-5, you will need ballet & tap shoes.
