Sign up for Dance (Ages 2-5)

There’s still a little time to register for 2017-2018 dance classes (ages 2-5)!
1. Tuesday Bop/Tap, 4:05-4:50pm (ages 4-5)-
Wear active wear, sneakers for Bop, creative movement/hip hop & tap shoes for tap
2. Thursday Morning Mommy & Me, 8:30-9:05am (ages 2-3)
Wear dance wear or active wear with sneakers. Class is for adult & child participation.
3. Thursday Morning Baby Ballet, 9:10-9:45am (ages 3-4)
Wear dance wear with tie-less ballet shoes (Bloch Belle or Capezio Love).

Oct 7: Geisinger’s Dream Big Hot Air Balloon Day
Saturday, October 7th
Geisinger’s Dream Big Hot Air Balloon-Community Day
7am-5pm at Spyglass Ridge Winery in Sunbury
Admission is free, parking is $5
Our Downtown Dance dancers will be there at 10:30am, performing at 11:30am on the outdoor stage.

The classes performing include Mon JLC, Tues TJL, Tues Lyrical 2, Fri Tap Duo, & the 2016-17 HH group.

Milton Harvest Festival Pageant
Our Cinderella group performed as the pre-show performance for the Milton Harvest Festival Pageant at Milton H.S. Afterwards, they rooted for the classmate, Addison, who was a junior contestant. Addison performed her lyrical, recital dance solo to “Skyscraper” as her talent. Way to go dancers!

Danville Dance Session: 9/7-12/7
Downtown Dance’s Miss Christine will be teaching at the Danville Area Community Center on Thursdays.
There’s still time to register!
Baby Ballet (ages 3-4): 3:30pm-4:05pm
Itty Bitty Ballet/Tap (ages 4-5): 4:10pm-4:55pm
Ballet/Tap (ages 5-7): 5pm-5:45pm
Jazz/Lyrical (ages 8-10): 5:45pm-6:20pm
Ballet/Tap classes need both types of shoes. For lyrical, please wear slip on tan, jazz shoes, (but if you already have ballet shoes or dance paws work too). Dancewear any style/color. Hair up. Recommended Pre-K ballet shoes “Bloch Belle” and “Capezio Love,” both handy, tieless ballet shoe styles.
Thursdays
September 7, 14, 21, 28; October 5, 12, 19; November 2, 9, 16, 30.
Performance December 7, 2017
Rate: Members $100, Non-Members $130
Additional $45 fee for Performance Leotard and Accessory Fee due by the 2nd class on 9/7.

Open to ages 8-13-

Valley’s Got Talent Photos
August 17, 2017 at the 10th Annual Valley’s Got Talent (show)
We had 4 dancers perform part of our Cinderella summer camp as Cinderella, the Prince, and the two stepsisters. They had to audition to get in the show. Look for their performance on local television soon! Great job, dancers!

Register Now for 2017-2018 school year, dance classes. Classes are filling. Five are currently wait list only!
Register today to reserve your spot! Classes begin Mon. Aug 28, that’s 2 weeks from today!
Sample of Some Great Classes Still Open:
1. Tuesday Bop/Tap (ages 4-5)- this is creative movement, hip hop, & tap. Great for the dancer who loves upbeat music, movement, but isn’t interested in ballet. We hope to see boys outnumber the girls in this one.
2. Monday Hip Hop 1 (ages 8-10)- beginner dance class, no prior dance experience necessary. Sneakers & active wear. Fun, fun, fun!
3. Wednesday Musical Theater Dance/Tap (ages 5-7) – After school class. Learn basic theater jazz steps and beginner tap. Do some acting & enhance your performance. Great addition or alternative to Ballet/Tap. See also, Wednesday Musical Theater Dance (8-13).
4. Thursday Morning Toddler Classes:
Mommy & Me (ages 2-3)- Finally, a class for two year olds! This is an interactive class with a child and adult (nanny, granny, daddy, whoever). Bond with your child, improve coordination & balance, and learn to dance move in time with music.
Baby Ballet (ages 3-5)- beginner ballet and creative movement, fun & imaginative.
5. Monday Lyrical 1 (ages 10-15)- beginner lyrical (fluid movement, a blend of ballet & jazz). Great for dancers looking to try a new style of dance. New dancers welcome.
