Registration is open for our classes! Classes run September 3 through May, culminating in a June Recital. Our current classes are suitable for ages 3-12. Select classes are invited to perform at special events during the year while select students are asked to participate on our competition team.

Reserve your child’s spot in class by returning the form & fee to the studio. Please email Christine at DowntownDancePA@gmail.com if you need a class recommendation. Preschoolers should enroll in Baby Ballet. If a 4 year old has prior experience, they should get approved before joining Itty Bitty Ballet/Tap.
*Please note that as of today, August 16, 2013, select classes have filled and closed. The following classes are closed: Both Itty Bitty Classes, both Hip Hop classes, and both Ballet/Tap classes. Please refer to the links above to our Registration Information regarding dress/shoes, tuition payments, and how to register.
Once you’ve registered for class, the next best thing is to buy a leotard, tights, and shoes in preparation for the first day!
Feel free to buy any style/color leotard. Most of our younger students enjoy wearing a ballet skirt or tutu over top. Please make sure that the skirt is not too big that the teacher cannot see your child’s legs.
This year, we have partnered with Curtain Call to bring you Capezio products. They are our favorite brand with quality and lasting power.

Scroll down to view the list of classes. Your class will be listed twice. Once for required shoes and tights. The other listing includes dancewear options. Navigate through the site by utilizing the “My Studio” button on the top right or left side bar. You may also use your browser’s Back button. Add items to your shopping cart & have it shipped to your home. Free shipping applies to orders $100 or more. Shipments should be received in 1-2 business days since the supplier is in York (ignore the date listed on the shopping cart page).
Not sure of your size? Be sure to click on the products’ size chart. Shoes run the same as one’s street shoe size with the exception of the Fierce Dansneaker. Order 2 sizes up if you have a Child size. We have samples of the Daisy Ballet shoe, Jr. Tyette Tap shoe, and the E-Series Jazz shoe here in the studio if you would like to try them on for size. The Jr. Tyette does come in wide width.
Other important notes on dress:
Ballet shoe ties must be tucked in for class. Danskin ballet slippers from Walmart are not suitable. Spandex shorts, ballet skirts, and tutus are acceptable dancewear. No jewelry (stud earrings are okay). Hair is to be swept up away from the face.
We finished up our summer dance camps last week! We had fun in Stars & Stripes Jazz Camp, Fun in the Sun Jazz, Princess Ballet, Teeny Bopper Tap, and Hip Hop. It was a good way for newcomers to try out dance styles and it was good for current students to get some dancing in over the summer break.

We took two students to compete as a duo and one as a soloist at Dancers Inc Nationals in Hershey, PA. Everyone had a great, first national competition experience. Our Tap Soloist got Gold. The Jazz Duo received High Gold & 3rd overall top score in their age division. This was likely the last performance for these routines (“Brown-Eyed Girl” and “Sparkling Diamonds”) Luckily, they saw some good stage time this year. First at Ticket to Broadway Regionals, then Dancers Inc Regionals, the Arts Festival, the Recital, then this final competition. We’re sad to see them go, but glad we ended on a good note. Looking forward to working on the next routine.

We were in the local papers, the Standard Journal & The Daily Item this past week! Two of our dancers were excited to be interviewed. They headed to Dancers Inc. Nationals July 8-9. They competed as a jazz duo at Regionals, having earned High Gold placement and Top score in their age division. The tap soloist also had received High Gold & top score overall in her age and level as well.
Our 3rd Annual Downtown Dance Recital was held on June 1, 2013 at Milton High School.
