We were in the local papers, the Standard Journal & The Daily Item this past week! Two of our dancers were excited to be interviewed. They headed to Dancers Inc. Nationals July 8-9. They competed as a jazz duo at Regionals, having earned High Gold placement and Top score in their age division. The tap soloist also had received High Gold & top score overall in her age and level as well.
Our 3rd Annual Downtown Dance Recital was held on June 1, 2013 at Milton High School.

Fun in the Sun Jazz– space available
Stars & Stripes Jazz– space available
Princess Ballet– 5pm & 6pm times have filled; preschoolers can sign up for the 4pm & 5-7 year olds can join the new 6:45pm time.
Teeny Bopper Tap– The 5pm has filled; there’s still space for camps ages 7-9 int. & ages 8-10 beg.
Co-Ed Hip Hop– 4 spots left in both times
To view our summer camp dates/times, click on the page above called “Summer Programs.” Registration can be printed off there & snail mailed to us or dropped in our 1st floor drop box any day but Sunday. Otherwise, we have copies on our door.
Our Recital is one week away! The Recital will take place on Saturday, June 1st at 6:30pm at Milton High School. The dancers have been working hard preparing their recital pieces and are extremely excited to perform for friends and family! The show will include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop ranging in various levels with dancers from age 3 to 12. Our competition lines will also be featured. Tickets are available at the door and won’t sell out so come check out what the Downtown Dance students have been working on!
We have added a Princess Ballet Camp time for 5-7 year olds for July 16-19 it will be a 6:45-7:30pm class. The 6pm time that is published on the flyer has filled and is now closed. Please get your registrations in asap. Thank you!
This past weekend Downtown Dance performed at the Lewisburg Arts Festival! It was a gorgeous day outside, and the dancers brought in quite the audience to watch them perform. One soloist, Mya, even made the cover of the Sunday issue of The Daily Item. It was great practice for the recital… which is a little over a month away!

The Downtown Dance dancers’ paired up last night with Bucknell’s Bison Girls Dance Team for a fun class! We met at Bucknell University, where the Bison Girls led the dancers through their team warm up and then everyone broke off into groups to choreograph dances to the popular song “Gangam Style!” We then took turns performing, watched the Bison Girls dance, and performed our Recital pieces for them. The dancers all had a wonderful time, and can’t wait to do it again in the Fall.

There will be opportunities to take Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop during June and July – and each camp is themed. There is even a class that will take place outdoors in Hufnagle Park! We attended our 2nd competition of the year on Saturday, April 13, 2013. It was a great success. Here are the entries and their awards:
1. Tap Solo age 7- High Gold,Top Scoring Soloist in the Petite Division in her level, & 2.75 points from getting the Elite Award (at least 288/300 points)
2. Tap Solo age 5-Gold (her first solo too!)
3. Tap Solo age 9-Gold
4. Jazz Duo ages 7 & 9-High Gold, Top Scoring Duo in the Petite Division in their level, 1.76 points shy of the Elite Award!
5. Jazz Group avg. age 7-8- Gold
6. Tap Group avg age 6-Gold
